On June 12, 2025, the province of Manitoba once again opened its doors to skilled foreign workers through a new round of invitations under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
A total of 36 candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) through the Skilled Worker Overseas stream.
Among them:
5 candidates had valid Express Entry profiles and Job Seeker Validation Codes
- Minimum score required in this draw: 613
Key Details About This Draw
This draw was limited to individuals who were directly invited as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
That means participation was only possible by provincial invitation, based on specific employer needs.
What is a Strategic Recruitment Initiative?
Manitoban employers who are experiencing labour shortages can nominate foreign workers through a special recruitment program.
To do so, employers must:
- Undergo provincial approval
- Follow the ABC Recruitment procedure
- Submit information about potential candidates
- Then, the province evaluates the submissions and issues invitations directly
Context for 2025: Reduced Immigration Quotas
Like most provinces, Manitoba’s immigration quota has been reduced in 2025.
This year, the Manitoba PNP (MPNP) received only 4,750 nomination spots — almost 50% less than in previous years.
This means:
- Fierce competition
- Limited number of draws
- Priority given to candidates who meet specific employer demand
Conclusion
Manitoba is still looking for skilled professionals — but only through targeted recruitment.
If you’re a qualified worker, have an Express Entry profile, and are interested in the region, now is the time to:
- Monitor strategic recruitment initiatives
- Engage with employers in Manitoba
- Prepare strong documents and meet all criteria
Even with limited quotas — there is still a chance.
If you’re considering this path, start your preparation now.
